Dexter Volunteer Fire Department Inc.

Dexter Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. formerly known as the Dexter Fire Department an entity of the Village of Dexter organized on the 19^th day of November 1886 and declared a village fire department by the village trustees on the 21^st day of May 1889 has now become companies of the Town of Brownville Joint Fire District beginning at midnight on the 1^st of January 2012. The purpose shall be to promote fire prevention, foster interest in all matters pertaining to the volunteer fire services and welfare of the volunteer firefighters, inculcate love of country, good citizenship, civic spirit, and self-sacrifice and to perpetuate the spirit that from the earliest days has actuated volunteer firefighters in the rendition of service of the highest type in the protection of life and property from fire, without the hope of fee or reward.
